Luc Thévenoz, Professor of Law at the University of Geneva since 1993, Luc Thévenoz is Director of the Center for Banking and Financial Law. Since January 2008, he chaired the Commission on takeover bids. Previously, he was a member of the Federal Banking Commission (2001-2007) and the Claims Resolution Tribunal for Dormant Accounts in Switzerland (1997-2001).
His research interests are in financial markets, contract law and the rights of trusts. He has done research stays at the University of California at Berkeley, Boston University and Duke Law School. He co-directs the Training Certificate in Compliance Management.
